Bodh Raj Sawhny Chair on Professional Ethics (BRSMT)
National Law University Delhi entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Trust (BRSMT) for establishing a Chair on Professional Ethics in the name of Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny at NLU Delhi with a view to promote teaching, research and training in Professional Ethics and for inculcating values of ethics, morality and integrity amongst the students and for promoting ethics both in students and legal profession in year 2012.
Under the aegis of NLU Delhi, the Chair among other activities:
- Undertakes various projects for promoting research in the field of Professional Ethics.
- Organizes seminars and conferences of national and international importance on Professional Ethics in legal profession in consultation with Bar Council of India.
- Formulates and develops the details of projects, curriculum, teaching and research methodology, training and advocacy work in the field of Professional Ethics.
Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Trust (BRSMT) has also established an endowment titled, ‘Prof. Ghanshyam Singh Cash Prize in Civil Procedure’ to be awarded to a deserving student during the Annual Convocation of NLU Delhi.
Every year under the auspices of Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Trust (BRSMT), NLU Delhi organizes an Annual Oration which is delivered by prominent personalities on a topic of social and legal importance.
