We are delighted to share that on 21st November 2025, the Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition (CIIPC) – IPR Chair, National Law University Delhi, in association with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), New Delhi, hosted a distinguished Japanese Industry Delegation on campus.
Representatives from leading global companies including Maruti Suzuki, Canon, Casio and Honda engaged with our students and shared invaluable insights on the role and relevance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) within their organizations. The discussions spanned practical issues such as addressing counterfeit products, corporate challenges in IP protection, strategic considerations, and the evolving expectations from young legal professionals.
The event welcomed participants from the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. in IP Law and Management programme, along with students from the undergraduate programme at NLU Delhi. Their enthusiastic engagement made for an enriching and thought-provoking interaction.
Following the conclusion of the sessions, all dignitaries engaged in a fruitful discussion with Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, who appreciated their valuable contributions and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between academia and industry.
A special note of appreciation to Mr. Hiroyuki Nakano, Senior Director (Intellectual Property Rights) & Regional Intellectual Property Attaché for South Asia, JETRO, New Delhi, whose efforts were instrumental in making this initiative a success.
We look forward to many more such meaningful engagements that inspire and shape the future IP leaders of tomorrow.
