We are thrilled to host the 9th Herbert Smith Freehills from 30th August – 1st September 2024

We are thrilled to host the 9th Herbert Smith Freehills – NLU Delhi International Negotiation Competition from 30th August – 1st September 2024 at National Law University Delhi! This prestigious event will bring together brilliant legal minds from across the globe, competing in a challenging and intellectually stimulating environment.

Best of luck to all the participants for the competition and a special thanks to our esteemed judges for their invaluable insights.

Event Report

National Law University, Delhi in collaboration with Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, London hosted the 9th HSF – NLU Delhi International Negotiation Competition from 30th August to 1st September, 2024. Attended by participants from over 30 Universities around the world, the competition was a rousing success.

After two days of gruelling negotiations, the team from the University of Cambridge emerged as the Winners of the Competition.

  • The Runners -Up were the team from the University of Technology, Sydney.
  • The Best Negotiator Award was presented to Divyank Dewan from National Law Institute University, Bhopal.
  • The Best Negotiation Plan Award was presented to the team from Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai.
  • The Spirit of the Competition Award was presented to the team from Chuo University.

Our sincere thanks Mr. Mark Bardell (Partner, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP), Mr. Siddhartha Shukla (Partner, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP), Prof. (Dr.) G.S Bajpai (Vice Chancellor, National Law University, Delhi) and Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul (Registrar, National Law University, Delhi) for their gracious presence and contribution to the event. We would also like to acknowledge the immense effort put in by Dr. Dakshina Chandra (Assistant Professor, NLU Delhi), Dr. Kheinkor Lamarr (Assistant Professor, NLU Delhi), Isha Goel (Trainee Solicitor, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP), Maitreyee Dixit (Associate, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP) and Ananya Bajpai (Associate, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP), without whom this competition would not have been possible.
