Setting Up of Endowment:
The Annual Shri Amarendra Sharan Gold Medal/Scholarship Endowed to NLU Delhi
NLU Delhi received an endowment to institute the ‘Senior Advocate Amarendra Sharan Gold Medal for Criminal Law’, in the name of Shri Amarendra Sharan, Sr. Advocate and Former Additional Solicitor General of India. The endowment has been made by Mrs. Madhu Sharan, Advocate, and Member Public Grievances Commission, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, wife of Late Shri Amarendra Sharan.
Shri Amarendra Sharan emphasised on the importance of education, which has led to instituting this scholarship. This will be awarded to at least one academically meritorious student from economically weaker section of the society enrolled in the LL.B. (Hons.) programme at the institution, every academic year. It is to start from the current academic year of 2019-2020. The endowment is to commemorate the memory of Late Shri Amarendra Sharan.
