Prof. G.S. Bajpai attended a high-level meeting of Vice-Chancellors and Directors of all National Law Universities (NLUs), convened by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, on October 31, 2025.
The meeting, organized by the Legislative Department, focused on the proposed inclusion of “Legislative Drafting and Plain Language Drafting” as core courses in the academic curriculum of NLUs. Prof. Bajpai was specially invited to contribute his expertise to the deliberations.
During the session, Prof. Bajpai offered valuable suggestions on strengthening legislative drafting education, emphasizing its role in enhancing the professional competencies of lawyers across litigation, corporate, advisory, and policy domains.
The meeting was chaired by the Sh. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Justice (Independent Charge), Govt. of India and witnessed the participation of Hon’ble Secretary, Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice besides involving active participation from heads of NLUs across the country.
