Prof. G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Delhi was invited to make a presentation and address the participants on Regulatory Aspects of Forensic Sciences Sector in the High Power Expert Group Meeting organized by National Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar on 18 May 2024. The meeting was centred around the theme ‘Strengthening Criminal Justice System through enhanced forensic efficiency.’
The central idea of his presentation to introduce the Forensic Science Regulation Act was well received and there was a consensus to introduce such regulation in the country to regulate the practice of forensic science.
Ms. Shreya Rastogi, Director Forensics, Project 39 A, NLU Delhi also made a presentation.
The delegates included Judges from Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, Home Secretary, Attorney General India, Solicitor General of India, senior advocates among others.
