Prof. G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Delhi participated in the “National Conference on Functioning and Governance of National Law Universities” held on May 17, 2026, at National Judicial Academy, Bhopal. The conference was organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Surya Kant, Chief Justice of India.
Representing National Law University Delhi as its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bajpai joined Chancellors, Visitors, Vice-Chancellors, and senior academic leaders from National Law Universities across the country to deliberate on key issues concerning the governance, administration, and future direction of legal education in India.
During his address, Prof. Bajpai emphasized the transformative role that National Law Universities can play in shaping the future of legal education through academic innovation, interdisciplinary research, policy engagement, and institutional excellence. He highlighted the need for strengthening collaboration among NLUs to enhance legal scholarship, promote access to justice, and prepare students to respond effectively to emerging national and global legal challenges.
The conference served as an important platform for dialogue among judicial and academic leaders on improving institutional governance, academic standards, and the overall development of legal education in India.
