National Law University Delhi celebrated its 12th Convocation, marking yet another milestone in its pursuit of academic excellence and leadership in legal education. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Mrs. Justice B.V. Nagarathna (Judge, Supreme Court of India & Visitor, NLU Delhi), Hon’ble Mr. Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya (Chief Justice, Delhi High Court & Chancellor, NLU Delhi), Hon’ble Mr. Ashish Sood (Minister, GNCT of Delhi), distinguished judges of the Delhi High Court, eminent jurists, and senior academic leaders.
Delivering the Convocation Address, Hon’ble Justice Nagarathna expressed pride in addressing the graduating class of 2025, congratulating them for completing one of the most rigorous legal education programmes in the country. She urged graduates to serve as “Officers of the Court and Stewards of the Constitution”, upholding justice, equality, and access to remedies for all. She reminded them to remain guided by their ethical compass, choosing integrity over expediency, and to embrace innovation while remaining deeply rooted in constitutional values.
Hon’ble Shri Ashish Sood, in his address, highlighted the inseparability of Vidya (knowledge) and Dharma (duty), urging graduates to view education as a responsibility towards society. He also paid tribute to parents and teachers as the true architects of student success.
Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, underscored the University’s significant academic achievements, noting NLU Delhi’s consistent 2nd Rank in the NIRF (Law) Rankings, its expanding international collaborations, and pioneering initiatives in Artificial Intelligence, Insolvency, and Intellectual Property Law.
Degrees were conferred upon 269 students across Ph.D., LL.M., JML, M.A., and B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) programmes. 31 medals and 9 cash prizes honoured academic excellence. Notable awardees included Pulkit Goyal and Dhaval Hemesh Sheth (Best Students of the Year), Anisha Sharma and Vibhuti Sharma (Vice-Chancellor’s Medals – Best Female Students), Aman Saini and Ankit Anand (Vice-Chancellor’s Medals – Best Male Students), Himanshi Raghuvanshi (First Rank, LL.M.), and Sanchya Bansal (First Rank, LL.M.–JML).
On this distinguished occasion, Hon’ble Justice A.K. Sikri and Prof. B.B. Pande were conferred the Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) for their exemplary contributions to law and academia.
