12 May 2023, New Delhi: National Law University Delhi organized a blood donation camp on campus in collaboration with Rotary Delhi Qutab on Friday, 12 May 2023. The camp saw active participation from NLU Delhi faculty, students, and staff members. Honorable Vice Chancellor, NLU Delhi, Professor (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai was amongst the first to come forward and volunteer. “Such camps not only serve the larger purpose of contributing meaningfully to society, but they also help in inculcating a spirit of service, which is an essential quality. I am glad to see so many of our students coming forward to donate blood,” said Professor Bajpai.
Rotary Club of Delhi Qutub conducts weekly blood donation camps across Delhi and donates blood at the Rotary Blood Bank, New Delhi. From the Rotary Blood Bank, blood is delivered free of cost in hospitals at which Rotary is empaneled, which includes army hospitals, government and private hospitals.
“We want to thank the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Kheinkor Lamarr, Assistant Professor, NLU Delhi and other staff members for organizing the camp so smoothly. There has been a stream of students and staff who have come out to donate blood, I’m grateful for the response,” said Anil Malhotra, Brigadier, Indian Army and Rotrary Club representative.
The donors were given refreshments and souvenirs in the form of t-shirts and coffee mugs.
“This was my first-time donating blood, I had second thoughts initially, but everyone here was so supportive that I felt encouraged to go ahead. Its feels nice to contribute and give back to society,” said Karina Chawla, a donor and NLU Delhi student.
Also present on the day, representing Rotary were Mr. G.S Saluja, President, Rotary Delhi Qutub, Lt General Ashok Vasudeva, Sunil Sethi and Shalini Sethi.
