MoU signed between NLU Delhi & Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur (June 18, 2024)

NLU Delhi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, on June 18, 2024.

National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi)

NLU Delhi, was established in the year 2008 under the National Law University Delhi Act, 2007 (Delhi Act No. 1 of 2008), and is a premier institution providing legal education in India. The Visitor of the University is Hon’ble Mrs Justice B.V. Nagarathna, Judge, Supreme Court of India and the Chancellor is Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice of High Court of Delhi,Hon’ble Mr. Justice Manmohan.The University is led by Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai who is the Vice Chancellor and Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul as the Registrar.

Prof. Bajpai is a renowned academician and administrator with over three decades of professional experience. He is also the Chair Professor at K.L Arora Chair in Criminal Law, and Chairperson of the Centre for Criminology & Victimology at NLUDelhi. Prof. Bajpai has been designated a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. He has formerly served as Vice Chancellor at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab and Registrar at NLUD.

About Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU Jabalpur)

DNLU Jabalpur, was established in the year 2018 under the Madhya Pradesh Dharmashastra National Law University Act, 2018, DNLU Jabalpur.

DNLU is guided by Hon’ble Judge of Supreme Court of India Shri Justice J.K. Maheshwari, as its Visitor, Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh Shri Justice Sheel Nagu as its Chancellor, and Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Sinha as its Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha specializes in Human Rights, Constitutional Law, International Humanitarian and Refugee Law, International Criminal Law, and International Law and International Institutions. He has served on the editorial boards of several reputable national and international journals and has received numerous invitations to give lectures at European universities.

Objectives of the MoU

The MoU between NLU Delhi and DNLU Jabalpur aims to enhance legal education through joint research, training, and academic activities. Further, it will facilitate joint research on matters of national importance in the field of law.

While signing the MoU Prof. Bajpai, emphasized upon the institutions’ shared commitment and promised for further strengthening the legal education practices of both Universities. The MoU was signed in the presence of the Registrar, NLUD Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul at NLUD Campus.
