      Ms. Himanshi Yadav

Research Associate, Centre for Criminology and Victimology

Himanshi Yadav graduated from National Law University Jodhpur with a specialization in Constitutional Law. Her academic and research interests lie at the intersection of criminology, constitutional law and feminist legal theory. Prior to joining the Centre, she worked on research projects with academics and institutions including National Law University Jodhpur, NALSAR University of Law, and Samruddha Bharat Foundation.

She has written on a range of contemporary constitutional and social questions such as majoritarian interpretation of the constitution, voter exclusion under SIR and validity of sedition laws in post-colonial India. Alongside these works, she contributed to the Hindi translation of Shudra: Ek Naye Path Ki Parikalpana, engaging with questions of caste and social reform.

Her primary interests lie in examining how legal systems negotiate questions of marginality, governance, and social control, and how constitutional and criminal law frameworks shape lived experiences of power.
