Dr. Yogesh Pai, Associate Professor (Law) was invited to speak at the International Judicial Conclave organised by the Delhi High Court in collaboration with the Delhi Judicial Academy and the United States Department of Justice and USPTO on a panel on Trade Secrets and Breach of Confidentiality held on 17th March 2024. The esteemed panellists included Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, Judge, Calcutta High Court; Koruwage Priyantha Fernando, Judge, Commercial High Court, Sri Lanka; Michael Frank, Magistrate Judge, US District Court for the Northern District of Florida; Professor (Dr) Pushpa Kumar Lakshmanan, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi and Dr. G R Raghavender, Senior Consultant, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The session was moderated by Adv. J. Sai Deepak. Dr. Pai’s contribution focussed on the Protection of Trade Secrets Bill 2024 proposed by the law commission in its interaction with the prevailing common law regime in this area. He also discussed developments in this area in comparative jurisdictions, particularly the European Union, on the intersection between trade secrets and public health.
