      Ms. Mahima Mahajan

      Assistant Professor (Law)

      Ms. Mahima Mahajan, an academic and practitioner in Intellectual Property Rights, is pursuing her Ph.D. from Himachal Pradesh National Law University. She holds an LL.M. in IPR from National Law University, Jodhpur, and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Amity Law School, Delhi, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. A UGC-NET qualified scholar, she brings over five years of experience spanning academia, practice, and government service.

       

      As an Assistant Professor at National Law University Delhi, she teaches Law of Contracts and International IP & Public Policy. Previously, she taught core law subjects at The NorthCap University, led the Placement & Internship Cell, initiated industry collaborations, and contributed to NAAC and NIRF accreditations. Her research focuses on the Patent Regime and Accessibility of Medicines in India, with emphasis on the public healthcare system, domestic violence during the pandemic, juvenile justice, and live-in relationships, with projects submitted to bodies like the National Human Rights Commission. She has published on the challenges of Biopiracy in India’s patent regime and also on the rights of the elderly. She has also served as a Hearing Officer at the Trade Marks Registry, Government of India, overseeing show-cause hearings, application examination, and trademark registration processes.

       

      Her areas of expertise include Intellectual Property Rights, Law of Contracts, Law of Evidence, and Family Law with a focus on bridging legal practice and research.
