National Law University Delhi proudly hosted Deeksharambh 2026 – Student Induction Programme for the Post Graduate Programmes on 1st August 2026 at the University Auditorium, marking the commencement of a new and intellectually enriching journey for its postgraduate cohort.
The programme began with the National Anthem, followed by the Lighting of the Lamp and felicitation of dignitaries, setting an inspiring tone and reflecting the University’s commitment to academic excellence.
The induction included an overview of the Post Graduate programmes by Prof. (Dr.) Bharti, followed by the Welcome Address by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, who encouraged students to engage deeply with the law and uphold ethical values.
The University was honoured to host distinguished guests for the occasion. The Special Guest, Ms. Shreya Agrawal, Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Special Court), Dwarka Courts, Delhi, addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights drawn from her experience in the judiciary. The Guest of Honour, Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, Vice Chancellor, NLU Jodhpur, spoke on the importance of academic rigor and institutional values in shaping future legal professionals. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Judge, Supreme Court of India, delivered an inspiring address, emphasising the foundational principles of justice, discipline, and responsibility that define the legal profession.
The inaugural session concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Risham Garg, expressing gratitude to all present.
The programme continued with orientation sessions on institutional policies and academic frameworks. Students were introduced to the faculty and provided an overview of the Post Graduate programmes and examination rules by Prof. (Dr.) Bharti. Sessions on campus rules and regulations were conducted by Dr. Prem Chand, while Dr. Kheinkor Lamar led a sensitisation session on anti-ragging measures and UGC regulations.
Further, Prof. (Dr.) Amita Punj delivered a session on gender sensitisation and the University’s policy against sexual harassment, reinforcing a safe and inclusive campus environment. A session on mental health and well-being was conducted by Ms. Akanksha Singh and Ms. Sheetal Choudhary, highlighting the importance of emotional resilience in academic life.
The orientation also included an introduction to library resources and research tools by Dr. Priya Rai and Dr. Samar Iqbal Bakhshi. The day concluded with an ERP training session conducted by the IT Department, equipping students with essential digital tools.
Deeksharambh 2026 for the Post Graduate Programmes familiarised students with the academic ethos and institutional framework of National Law University Delhi, marking the beginning of a transformative journey in legal education.
