      CELPR, NLU Delhi Hosts Expert Panel on Climate Change Law in India on World Environment Day 2026

      The Centre for Environmental Law, Policy and Research (CELPR), National Law University Delhi was delighted to host an engaging World Environment Day Expert Panel on “Climate Change Law in India: Balancing Development, Energy Transition, and Climate Justice” on 5th June 2026.

      The Panel brought together two distinguished experts: Mr. Sanjay Upadhyay, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Founder & Patron, ELDF, and Dr. Shashi Kant Yadav, Lecturer in Law, Northumbria University. The discussion explored the evolving landscape of climate change law in India, examining the challenges of pursuing economic development while ensuring a just energy transition and advancing climate justice.

      Drawing upon their extensive academic and professional experience, the speakers offered valuable insights into contemporary environmental governance, climate policy, judicial developments, and the role of law in addressing the climate crisis. The session encouraged meaningful dialogue on the legal and policy frameworks necessary for building a sustainable and equitable future.
