      Advancing Gender-Responsive Policing | NLU Delhi-UN Women, India (7th October, 2026)

On 7 October 2026, National Law University Delhi, through the Cambridge-NLU Delhi Centre for Research in Global Policing (CRGP), hosted a consultation meeting with UN Women India, led by Ms Shoko Ishikawa, Ms Kanta Singh and Ms Veda Bharadwaja, to explore different avenues for collaboration to advance gender-responsive policing in India.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.S. Bajpai, along with the Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Risham Garg, felicitated the UN Women India delegation. Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Bajpai emphasised moving from identifying challenges to evidence-informed pilots that demonstrate tangible policy change, backed by sustained institutional engagement and better data. UN Women India shared its interest in supporting evidence-based interventions that drive lasting policy and cultural change in policing and in developing policing practices that can travel across.

The meeting marks a promising step towards collaboration between NLU Delhi and UN Women India, with a shared interest in translating evidence and institutional experience into practical initiatives that advance gender-responsive policing.
