National Law University Delhi, in collaboration with Think India, successfully inaugurated the 1st National Trial Advocacy Competition on 8th August 2026 at the Moot Court Hall, NLU Delhi.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ashok Bhushan, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Former Chairperson of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal.
The program featured an engaging introduction by Mr. Vijjual Mangat Pundir, National Convenor, Think India, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice Chancellor, NLU Delhi, who emphasized the importance of advocacy skills and experiential learning in legal education.
A special segment of the ceremony was led by Mr. Prince Pawaiya, Founder & Director, Samanjasya ADR ODR Institution, whose presence added to the significance of the occasion and underscored the evolving role of alternative dispute resolution in contemporary legal practice, alongside the Curtain Raising Ceremony of Samanjasya, which was spearheaded under his guidance.
The ceremony was further enriched by the address of the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ashok Bhushan, whose insightful words inspired participants to pursue excellence, integrity, and commitment in the field of law and advocacy.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Risham Garg, followed by the National Anthem, marking the formal commencement of the competition.
The event set a strong and distinguished foundation for the competition, bringing together esteemed members of the legal fraternity and aspiring advocates to celebrate and advance the art of trial advocacy.
