Ms. Vibhuti Sharma
Academic Fellow (Criminal Law)
Ms. Vibhuti Sharma is an Academic Fellow (Criminal Law) at the National Law University, Delhi. She holds a Master’s in Public Law from National Law University, Delhi, where she was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal of Excellence and the Utkarsh Award for academic and professional distinction. She completed her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Chanakya National Law University, Patna.
Ms. Sharma’s professional experience spans across legislative research, criminal justice reform, and gender-responsive policymaking. She has served as a LAMP Fellow at PRS Legislative Research, where she supported parliamentary research, drafted legislative interventions, and contributed to policy analysis across diverse sectors. She subsequently worked with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, as a Young Professional, contributing to policy initiatives on women’s rights, minority education, and grassroots implementation frameworks.
Her research at National Law University Delhi has been closely associated with the Gates Foundation–supported project on criminal law reform, where she co-developed research on strengthening protections for women under the new criminal law jurisprudence. She has also contributed to public legal education initiatives, including the development of accessible legal resources on the inheritance rights of widows in India.
Ms. Sharma’s academic and professional work reflects a sustained engagement with issues of access to justice, institutional accountability, and the evolving architecture of criminal law in India.
