Visit of H.E. Mr. Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador, Embassy of Belgium along with Professor Frederik Swennan, University of Antwerp, Belgium (October 27, 2023)

We were glad to host H.E. Mr. Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador, Embassy of Belgium on our campus along with Professor Frederik Swennan, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Antwerp, Belgium on the 27th of October 2023.

During the visit, NLU Delhi renewed its long-standing MOU with University of Antwerp which in its inception entailed a partnership between the two institutions in areas of academic & research collaboration, which has now been revised to also include students exchange programme.

On the occasion, H.E. Mr. Didier Vanderhasselt, “I arrived in India (Delhi), one year ago and I am very happy to visit NLU Delhi together with Professor Frederik Swennan, Dean, Law Faculty, University of Antwerp, especially because I am an alumnus of the University of Antwerp.

“We as an Embassy are very happy that people-to-people contact between Belgium and India will increase (with the signing of the MoU). We are also happy because the global relations between Belgium and India are excellent, so we are looking forward to enhancing our relations with India in many sectors; economically, politically, culturally and now also academically,” he added.

Professor Frederik Swennan, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Antwerp, Belgium, said, “Since more than 10 years, NLU Delhi has been, what we call a ‘preferred partner’. The MoU which was initially concluded, entailed joint research collaboration (one-to-one and group-to-group). We are very happy to renew the MoU now with the addition of students exchange programme, which will mean outgoing students from NLU Delhi and incoming students to University of Antwerp. In this regard, we are very happy to be welcoming 8 NLU Delhi students in Antwerp next year, which is very important for us.”
