The Centre for Cyber Laws in collaboration with the Centre for Digital Transformation and Confederation of Indian Industries successfully conducted a Two-Day Certificate Workshop on Cyber Laws for industry professionals across the disciplines. The workshop, conducted at National Law University, Delhi saw the participation of forty-one industry professionals. The attendees were representatives of government departments, banks, academia as well as private companies. The Workshop was conducted in the form of lectures by eminent personalities in the field of Cyber Laws across the two days.
It began with warm welcome regards by Col. Suhail Zaidi (Retd.), Head of the CII-Tata Communications Centre for Digital Transformation and Dr. Aparajita Bhatt, Director of the Centre for Cyber Laws at National Law University Delhi (NLUD). It was followed by an insightful lecture regarding ‘Overview of Cyber Laws’ by Dr Gurujit Singh, Associate Professor at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. It was followed by a session on ‘Understanding the kinds of Cybercrimes and Contraventions’ and ‘Intellectual Property in Cyberspace’ by advocate at the Supreme Court Mr. Nisheeth Dixit and Associate Professor and Co-Director, Centre for CIIPC, Dr Yogesh Pai, respectively. Further, the workshop ended on day one with engaging sessions on ‘Industry specific Rules and Regulations by Col. Atul Kumar Saxena, Ex-Director, CICG. He holds the position of the CEO of AKS Institute of Cyber Technology.
After the conduction of an interactive day one, the sessions for day two began with one on Data Protection for Businesses by advocate at the Supreme Court, Mr Nipun Saxena. Following that, the participants got to learn from the technology policy expert and advisor Mr. Dhruv Garg on ‘Regulation of Emerging Technology on AI, Web 3.0, Blockchain and related concerns.’ Further, topics such as E-Commerce Legal Issues and Cyber-Security were discussed by Dr. Sunaina, Founding OSD at the Institute of Cyber Security and Law, and Mr. Anshul Saxena, CEO at Haltdos. Lastly, the two-day workshop had Mr Rakesh Maheshwari, Former Senior Director and Group Director at Cyber Laws and Data Governance at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology speak about ‘Information Security Best Practices.’
The Workshop finally concluded with a valedictory session and certificate distribution by Col. Suhail Zaidi (Retd.), Mr. Rakesh Maheshwari and Dr. Aparajita Bhatt, successfully attempting to bridge the knowledge gap in the current times by providing with an understanding of the legal framework and best practices in the field of cyber laws.
