The National Law University Delhi in association with Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice, Sheffield Hallam University, U.K. has organized a Study Trip for the Indian Police Officers from 06-11 February 2017. The delegates involves five Indian Police Officers namely Smt. Anuradha Shankar, ADG, Madhya Pradesh, 2. Sh. Arshinder Singh Chawla, IPS, IGP/Law & Order, Haryana, Panchkula, 3. Sh. R.A. Sanjeev, IPS, DCP/Estt./PHQ, Delhi Police 4. Sh. Vineet Kapoor, State Coordinator, DGP Office, Police Headquarters , Bhopal Madhya Pradesh 5. Smt. Varsha Sharma, DCP/SPUWAC, Delhi Police, took part in this one week Study tour at U.K. The delegation was led by Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Registrar National Law University Delhi and assisted by Mr. Sidharth Dahiya, Assistant Registrar, NLU Delhi.
This study trip gave an opportunity to the Indian police officers to learn about how the UK responds to women and girl victims of violence. They had meeting & interaction with London Metropolitan Police Commander, Chief of Police of Leicestershire U.K., Commander in chief, London Police.
The highlight of the tour was series of meetings with ground level Police officials and study of certain specialized institutions like Domestic Abuse Centre, Child Sexual Referral Centre and interaction with non-governmental organization helping the police in implementing the important policies of the state.
This study trip enabled the Indian Police Officers to study the cases related to women and girl victims of violence in U.K.
