A round-table discussion was held on 17th Feb, 2018 on the issue of maintenance as a part of research project titled “Exploring Court’s Role in Facilitating Women’s Right to Maintenance”, commissioned by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India to NLU Delhi.
It saw the participation of key stakeholders- litigants, NGOs, Advocates, Judicial officers that engaged in family courts/mahila courts in a daylong event. The member secretory NALSA – Mr. Alok Aggarwal, Adv. Ms. Malavika Rajkotia , DLSA Special Secretary-Ms. Geetanjali Goel, Senior Adv. Ms. Gita Luthra, Adv. Ms. Anu Narula, Adv. Prashant Mendiratta chaired and co-chaired the morning session.
The special session was chaired by the Hon’ble Justice (Retd.) Manju Goel – Delhi High Court and co-chaired by Prof. B.T.Kaul- Chairperson Delhi Judicial Academy. It was addressed by Hon’ble Justice Gita Mittal- Acting Chief Justice Delhi High Court; Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh- NLU Delhi; Mr. Rakesh Srivastava- Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India; Mr. Chetan B Sanghi- Joint Secretary.
The program was coordinated by Prof. (Dr. ) Anju Tyagi and Dr. Bharti, who are also the coordinators for the research project.
