Programmes organised by  National Law University, Delhi  commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence (Bharat ka Amrut Mahotsav)

 

National Law University Celebrated Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s Birth Day on the 14th of April 2021.  Floral tributes were paid to Dr. Ambedkar by the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, teaching and non-teaching staff of the National Law University, Delhi.

 

National Law university, organised a talk by Prof. Ishwara Bhat, Professor of Law  & Vice-Chancellor, Karnatka State Law University on “ Duty to cherish The Nobel ideals which inspired out National Struggle for Freedom”. The lecture was delivered on the 10th of August in Virtual mode. Prof Ishwar Bhat stressed on the importance of performance of the   enshrined in the Constitution to realise the goals of a just equitable, peaceful and harmonious Social order. The talk was attended by the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university.

 

A exhibition of books and other published materials was held in the Library Complex of the National Law University, Delhi on the 11th of August 2021.The University Library has showcased 50 books on different themes and topics written by prominent writers discussing the role of revolutionary heroes like Mahatma Gandhi, SardarPatel, Dr. B R. Ambedkar, Sri Aurobindo, Subhas Chandra Bose and many more. Library also displayed the articles published in leading Newspapers revisiting history and highlighting glory and sacrifices made by Freedom Fighters.  The list of Books available in library and Digital copies of the article are attached for reference.The exhibition was inaugurated with lightening of lamp by Prof. (Dr.) Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice Chancellor and National Law University Delhi in presence of Prof. (Dr.) AnupamaGoel, Professor of Law and Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Maheshwar Singh, Professor of Political Science, along with senior faculty members and library staffs. While addressing the august gathering, Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao highlighted that the integration of reading and writings strategies helps researchers and writers leap from knowing to understanding.

 

A talk to commemorate Bharat ka Amrut Mahotsav was organised by National Law University on the 13th of August 2021. The talk was delivered through online mode by Prof. Makarand R. Paranjpe, Professor of English at Jawaharlal Nehru University on “Law and Dharama”. Prof. Paranjpe emphasised on Dharma as an important source of a just legal order. He cited instances Indian History (Ancient and Modern), literature and stories to underscore his proposal regarding the necessity of Dharama towards the achievement of just society. His talk was followed by the question and answer on the subject.

 

ESSAY COMPETITION AS PART OF CELEBRATION OF WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY, 2022

 

The Consumer Chair at National Law University, Delhi under the aegis of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India organized an Essay Competition as part of celebration of World Consumer Rights Day, 2022. The aim of the Essay Competition was to stimulate interest and foster growth amongst different stakeholders to explore and engage with contemporary and seminal issues in the field of consumer law and policy. The winners were felicitated by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India during the celebration of World Consumer Rights Day On 15th March.

 

Webinar on ‘Consumer Protection in Digital Era’ on the occasion of National Consumer Day 2021

On the occasion of National Consumer Day 2021, a Webinar on ‘Consumer Protection in Digital Era’ wasorganised by the Chair on Consumer Law, National Law University Delhithe aegis of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, GO on 24th Dec 2021. Dr. PavanDuggal, Advocate, Supreme Court of India & Cyber Law Expert was the main speaker under the event. The event was conducted in an online mode.
