National Law University Delhi hosted an insightful webinar on “Preventing Ecocide: A Step Towards Protecting the Environment,” on 16 November 2024

This webinar brought together passionate voices committed to addressing one of the world’s most urgent environmental challenges. The Panel Discussion featured inspiring insights from our panellists:

Ms. Jojo Mehta, Co-Founder, Stop Ecocide Foundation, provided insights into the global push to recognize ecocide as a crime.

Dr. Emma J Breeze, Assistant Professor, Birmingham Law School, explored the concerns and challenges with ecocide being recognised under Rome Statute.

Mr. Sanjay Upadhyay, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, shared his expertise on ecocide being considered as a crime in the domestic arena.

Dr. Lovleen Bhullar, Assistant Professor, Cambridge University, also provided keen insights on using criminal law as a tool of protecting the environment.
