National Conference on Fintech, Data Protection & Cyber Security

November 19, 2022

 

The Centre for Cyber Laws, NLU Delhi in collaboration with CII-Tata Communications Centre for Digital Transformation and in partnership with InQuest Advisories successfully conducted a one day National Conference on Fin-tech, Data protection and Cyber Security on November 19, 2022. The welcome address was given by Dr. Aparajita Bhatt, Director Centre for Cyber Laws, the welcome address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, Vice-Chancellor (I/c) NLU Delhi. The keynote address was delivered by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Talwant Singh, Judge, Delhi High Court followed by the special address by Col. Suhail Zaidi, Head, CII-Tata Communications Centre for Digital Transformation. Justice Singh shared his views on the necessity of having stringent cyber security measures and the contribution of technology in the growth of a country. Justice Singh also released the conference proceedings which includes the fifteen papers which were shortlisted for presentation during the conference.

 

The first session on data protection and cyber security was chaired by Dr. Lopa Mudraa Basu, Cyber security & tech Risk Management Evangelist, Mr. Ashutosh Makkar, Head Cyber Security, Bharti Airtel, Mr. Deepak Munjal, IT Security Consultant, NCR Corporation and Dr. Pavan Duggal, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Cyber Law Expert. The session chairs had presented their valuable insights on each of the eight papers presented during the first session.

 

The second session on Fintech, Intermediary Liability and Cyber Security was chaired by Prof M.S. Sahoo, Distinguished professor, NLU Delhi and Col (Dr.)  Atul Kumar, CEO, AKS Institute of Cyber Technology and Ex-Director Deloitte. Both the session chairs had expressed their views on the regulation of fintech & and its interface with cyber security.

 

The conference ended with the valedictory session and distribution of certificates.
