The Legal Service Committee of National Law University Delhi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Naz Foundation International (NFI) on November 11, 2024, as part of the events organised for celebrating Legal Services Day, 2024. This partnership aims to provide essential legal aid and support services to the LGBTQIA+ community and sex workers, addressing critical areas of vulnerability and ensuring access to justice.
Following the MoU signing, an insightful panel discussion on “Law on the Margins: Addressing Systemic Bias” brought together leading voices in law, social justice, and advocacy. The discussion explored structural biases within the legal framework and highlighted pathways toward a more inclusive and equitable justice system. The Panel included Rohin Bhatt, Shubhangi Singh (WFI), Hari Kartik Ramesh (JGLS), Arif jaffar (NFI) and Dr. Sophy KJ. This is also in the context that Student Team comprising Mr. Vatsal Jindal, Ms. Ishaany and Ms. Mansha Sidhu are working on Handbook for Sex Workers against Harm in wider consultation with various organisations, including NFI.
Through this collaboration, NLU Delhi reaffirms its commitment to advocating for marginalized communities and fostering a society where every individual is treated with dignity and respect.
