Mooting Achievements

  1. XXVIIIth Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vienna)
    The team comprising Rohit Raj, E. Sarashika and Ananaya Agrawal, all IIIrd year students, finished as the Semi-Finalists at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vienna), 2021. The team received the Eric Bergsten Award (Honorable Mention), and Rohit and Sarashika were conferred the Martin Domke (Honorable Mention) Oralist Awards. In the lead-up to the competition, the team prevailed at several pre-moots such as the 4th DLA Piper St. Petersburg Global Pre-Moot, Permanent Court of Arbitration Hague Pre-Moot, 7th Brno Vis Pre Moot (Czech Republic), and Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Pre-Moot. They also won the awards for Semi-finalists and Best Submissions (Respondent) at the Seoul Vis pre-Moot. They finished as octa-finalists at the ICC Pre-Moot, Shanghai.

  2. XVIIIth Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Hong Kong)
    The team comprising Philip Ashok Alex (III year), Ritesh Patnaik (III year) and Chiranjeev Singh Marwaha (II year) went as far as the Round of 32 at the 18th Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot, Hong Kong. They were adjudged as the highest-ranked team at the Zenica Vis pre-Moot and emerged as the runners-up at the IAC Central Asia Vis pre-Moot. Philip Ashok Alex was also adjudged as the Best Speaker at the IAC Central Asia Vis pre-Moot. Further, the Vis contingent participated together as one team at the Asian International Arbitration Centre Pre-Moot and finished as octa-finalists.

  3. 25th Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition
    After a stellar performance at the Indian National Rounds, the team comprising Aparna Krishna Kumar (III year), Ayan Gupta (II year) and Ghanavi Umesh (II year), finished as Semi-finalists at the 25th Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition. Ayan Gupta also received the award for the Second Best Oralist.

  4. 13th Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court Competition
    The team comprising Ashima Sharma (IV Year), Threcy Lawrence (IV Year), and Ishan Bhatnagar (III Year) finished as octa-finalists at the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot 2021. They also emerged as the finalists at the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration's FIAMC Moscow pre-Moot.

  5. 6th GNLU Moot on Securities & Investment Law
    The team comprising debutant mooters, Somanshu Shukla (II Year), Labdhi Golechha (II Year) and Divyanshu Sharma (II Year), finished as semi-finalists at the 6th edition of the GNLU Moot on Securities & Investment Law. They were also adjudged as the highest-ranked team in the preliminary rounds.

  6. The team comprising of Isha Goel (III Year), Atharva Kotwal (III Year) and Arudhra Rao (V Year) participated in the South-Asia rounds of the Oxford Price Media Law Moot Court Competition (2019-20). They emerged the runners-up as well as won the award for the Best Memorial. The team has qualified to the International Rounds of the Moot.

  7. The team comprising of Muskaan Nandwani (II Year), Vaidehi Pendam (II Year) and Pranav Waikar (II Year) participated in the G.D. Goenka International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition 2019 and emerged the Semi-Finalists in the same.

  8. The team comprising of Prastuti Tiwari (III Year), Abhishek Kumar (IV Year) and Anubhav Batra (IV Year) participated in the 2nd S.K. Puri Memorial International Moot Court Competition 2019. The team emerged as the winners of the competition.

  9. The team comprising of Kannan Jhunjhunwala (IV Year), Raashi Pathak (V Year) and Pallavi Mishra (V Year) participated in the HSF Competition Law Moot. The team reached the semi-finals in international rounds after qualifying a memo selection process. The memo was placed 4th internationally.

  10. The team comprising of Ayush Baheti (IV Year), Kumar Ritwik (V Year) and Tejaswita Kharel (V Year) participated in the 20th D.M. Harish Memorial International Moot Court Competition 2018-19. The team emerged as the semi-finalists and won the award for the best Memorial, amongst many others:
    • Kumar Ritwik emerged as the 4th Best Oralist, overall and the 2nd Best Oralist in the Preliminary Rounds
    • Ayush Baheti was adjudged the 3rd Best Oralist in the Preliminary Rounds
    • Tejaswita Kharel was ranked the 5th Best Researcher

  11. The team comprising of Isha Goel (III Year), Atharva Kotwal (III Year) and Aman Gupta (V Year) participated in the Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot 2019. The team secured the position of Eighth-Finalist ans were placed 3rd out of 137 teams that had participated in the preliminary rounds. Also:
    • Both the speakers (Atharva Kotwal and Isha Goel) got honorable mention for best oralist
    • Isha Goel was ranked as the Best Oral Advocate in the Hong Kong Pre Moot in 2019

  12. The team comprising of Madhav Nakra (II Year), Siddharth Kaushal (II Year), Aviral Singhal (II Year), Riya Shah (III Year) and Rohan Andrew Naik (V Year, 2019 Batch) participated in the national and international rounds of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Moot Court Competition, 2019. The team won the following awards:
    • They emerged the Runners-Up in the India National Rounds
    • The team also qualified for the semi-finals of thw World Rounds
    • The Defence Memorial was adjudged the 'Best Defence Memorial' at the World Rounds
    • The team was adjudged the Best Defence Team at the World Rounds
    • Siddharth Kaushal won the award for the Second Runner-Up Best Defence Counsel Speaker

  13. The team comprising of Aastha Gangwal (III Year), Sahil Malhotra (III Year) and Nidhi Pratap Singh (III Year) participated in the GNLU Moot on Securities and Investment Law, 2019. The team emerged as the Semi-Finalists at the moot. Sahil Malhotra was adjudged the Best Speaker.

  14. The team comprising of Meghna Bhaskar (III Year), Oshika Nayak (III Year) and Ashutosh Singh participated in the XII NLS Trilegal International Arbitration Moot and emerged as the Semi-Finalists.

  15. The team comprising of Palash Srivastava (III Year), Akanshha Agrawal (III Year) and Manav Dhanetiya (III Year) participated in the K.K. Luthra Memorial Moot Court Competition. The team won the awards for the Best Memorial for both the Respondent and the Appellant sides.

  16. The team comprising of Anushka Pandey (IV Year), Vishvesh Viram (IV Year) and Yashita Gour (IV Year) participated in the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court Competition. The team was placed 3rd in the Regional Rounds and 9th in the World Rounds

  17. The team comprising of Rohit Raj (II Year), Ananaya Agrawal (II Year) and E. Sarashika (II Year) participated in the Henry Dunant Moot Memorial Competition 2019. The team emerged as the semi-finalists.

  18. The team comprising of Shreya Bhatnagar (IV Year), Pundrikaksh Sharma (V Year) and Ashima Sharma (III Year) participated in the 20th International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot 2019. The team emerged as the winners of the Best Performance by a Newcomer Award. Ashima Sharma was adjudged the Best Speaker from a Newcomer Team.

  19. The team comprising of Rakesh Roshan (IV Year), Virupaksh Kachwahha (III Year), Ayushi Pathak (IV Year), Anish Kokher (III Year) participated in the India National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup Public International Law Moot and won the award for the Best Memorial.

  20. The team comprising of Aditya Garg, Arpit Agarwal, Devdutta Mukhopadhyay, Ishaan Mishra, and Shuchita Goel participated in the International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition 2017, and went on to win the following awards:

  21. The team comprising of Aaditya Gambhir, Rohan Bhatia, Vrinda Vinayak participated in the 14th edition of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Hong Kong) 2017. The competition was held from 26th March - 2nd April 2017 at Hong Kong and went on to win the following prizes:
    • Octa-Finalist Team (Round of 16 - Rank 9 of 125 teams)
    • David Hunter Award for Best Memorandum on Behalf of Claimant (Honourable Mention)
    • Neil Kaplan Award for Best Oralist (Honourable Mention) for Rohan Bhatia
    • The team had previously participated in the 1st edition of the ICC-KLRCA, Pre-Moot to the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The competition was held from 16th -19th March 2017. They went on to win the following prizes:
    • Second Runners-Up Team
    • Best Oralist Award for Aaditya Gambhir
  22. The team comprising of Tishta Tandon (Speaker), Sonna Subbaiah (Speaker), Nikhil Kumar Singh (Researcher) participated in the 24th edition of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, Vienna. The competition was held on 24th April, 2017 at Vienna, and the team went on to win the following prizes:
    • Ranked 1st out of 338 teams in the qualifying rounds
    • Tishta Tandon was awarded an Honorable Mention as an Oralist
    • The team was awarded an Honorable Mention for their Respondent Memorial
    • They had previously participated in the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration - International Chamber of Commerce Vis Pre-Moot, Malaysia. The competition was held from 16th to 20th March, 2017. The team went on to win the following prizes:
    • The team won second place in the tournament
    • Tishta Tandon was selected as the Best Speaker of the finals round
    • Further, they participated in the 7th edition of the International Chamber of Commerce Indian Vis Pre-Moot, New Delhi. The competition was held from 24th to 26th February, 2017. They reached the semi-final round, and Sonna Subbaiah was selected as the second-best speaker of the tournament.
  23. The team comprising of Namita Elizabeth Varghese, Neeraj Nainani, Sanjana Ravjiani participated in the 9th edition of the NUJS - HSF Corporate Law Moot Court Competition held from 3rd – 5th March, 2017. The team went on to win the Best Memorial Award.
  24. The team comprising of Pallavi Mishra, Raashi Pathak and Yuvnesh Sharma (Researcher) won the Jindal Technology Law and Policy Moot. The competition was held from 24th -26th March 2017. The team also won the Second Best Memorial Award.
  25. The team comprising of Siddharth Gupta, Surya Vasu, Abhishek Sharma participated in the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot. The competition was held on 30th January, 2017(National Rounds) and from 7th to 12th March, 2017(International Rounds). The team went on to win the following prizes:
    • Runner up National Rounds
    • Top 16, International Rounds
  26. The team comprising of Dushyanth Narayanan, Neil Shroff and Pundrikaksh Sharma participated in the National Law School Trilegal International Arbitration Moot '17. The competition was held from 11th to 14th May, 2017 at Bangalore. The team won Best memorial for respondent.
  27. The team comprising of Gali Arudhra Rao, Anmol Mittal, Shubham Aggarwal won the CLC Justified Moot Court Competition. The competition was held from 31st March to 2nd April, 2017 at Law Centre 2, Delhi University. They were adjudged the Best Team and Anmol Mittal won Best Advocate.

    The team comprised of Shrutanjaya Bhardwaj (Speaker), Veda Handa (Speaker) and KainazTanveer (Researcher).
    Achievements:
    1. Overall Winners (qualified to the international rounds at Oxford University)

  11. 1st NLIU R.K.Tankha International Moot Competition – Held at NLIU, Bhopal
    The team comprised of TishtaTandon, Koirobi Biswas (Speakers) and Madhulika (Researcher).
    Achievements:

    2. Third-best Overall Memorial


  • The team comprising of Linesh Lalwani, Somil Kumar and Arshu John (Batch of 2015) won the 2014 Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition. Linesh Lalwani also won the Sterns and Tennen Award for the Best Oralist.
  • The team comprising of Aditya Singha, Dhruv Gautam and Rayan Azmi won the Award for the Best Claimant Memorial at the 6th Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot 2013 after having been Overall-Runners-up in the National Rounds. The team was the 7th Best Team at the International Rounds where Aditya Singha and Dhruv Gautam were the 4th and 36th Best Speakers respectively.
  • The team comprising of Kritika Padode, Nooreen Sarna and Vaishali Singh represented the University at the World Rounds of the 55th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition after having won the National Rounds (North). Nooreen Sarna was the 65th Best Oralist at the World Rounds and Best Speaker (Finals) in the National Rounds (North).
  • The team comprising of Aarushi Mahajan, Sucheta Roy and Yashasvi Tripathi won the prize for Best Memorial at the 13th Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition.
  • The team comprising of Sanya Sud, Aroon Menon and Srishti Singhania were Runners-UP at the Xth K.K. Luthra Memorial Moot Court Competition.
  • The team comprising of Harshad Pathak, Pratyush Panjwani and Tanvee Nandan represented the University at the 11th Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot where both Harshad Pathak and Pratyush Panjwani received Honourable Mentions for being the Best Oralists.
  • The team comprising of Kriti Soni, Saloni Sharma and Deepan Shah were Runners-Up at the 5th NLU Antitrust Law Moot Court Competition. Kriti Soni and Deepan Shah were adjudged as the Best Speaker and Best Researcher respectively.

  • The team comprising of Linesh Lalwani, Somil Kumar and Arshu John won the NLSIU –ISRO National Funding Rounds for Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition. Somil Kumar was adjudged as the Best Speaker (Finals).
  • The team comprising of Tanima Tandon, Kanwar Vivswan and Nishkarsh Jakhar were Runners-Up at the 18th Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition (India Rounds).
  • The team comprising of Medha Vikram, Divya Srinivasan and Harshad Pathak won the Oxford Media Law Moot Court Competition (South Asia rounds) held at NLU Delhi in November 2012. The team also won the Best Memorial Award.
  • The team comprising of Kritika Padode, Vandana Venkatesh and Jishnu Sanyal were adjudged runners up at the North India qualifier rounds of the 2012 Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition held at NLIU Bhopal in November 2012.Vandana Venkatesh was also adjudged the Best Student Advocate while Kritika Padode was adjudged the Best Speaker of the Finals and the Second Best Student Advocate.
  • The team comprising of Utkarsh Srivastava, Dhruv Sharma and Natasha Aggarwal won the India rounds of the 12th Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition held at the Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi. The same team went on to win the South Asian rounds of the 8th Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court competition held in Dhaka in October 2012. The team further went on to win the 11th Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Moot held in March 2013 in Hong Kong.
  • The team comprising of Nitika Dwivedi, Aishani Gupta and Sarvjeet Singh was adjudged the 3rd best team at the international rounds of the Oxford Price Media Law Moot Court Competition held at Oxford in March 2012.
  • The team comprising of Shreya Rastogi, Akshay BD, Naman Joshi and Sarvatrajit Singh won the 2012 Jessup Moot Court Competition (North India rounds), thus qualifying for the world rounds of the 53rd Jessup Moot Court Competition held at Washington DC in March 2012, where Naman Joshi won an honourable mention for the 38th best oralist and the memorial was adjudged the 11th best memorial. 15. The team comprising of Sameer Dawar, Devna Arora and Avantika Gupta qualified for the Asia Pacific rounds of the 2012 Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition.
  • The team comprising of Vishwam Jindal, Punya Varma and Harsh Makhija was a quarter-finalist at the 2nd Moot Shangai held at the Shanghai Arbitration Commission in March 2012. Punya Varma was adjudged the 2nd best speaker.
  • The team comprising of Vandana Venkatesh, Aashika Jain and Swati Sareen won the national rounds of the 2012 Leiden Sarin Air Law Moot Court Competition and qualified for the world rounds held at Istanbul,Turkey in March 2012.
  • The team comprising of Aarti Bhavna, Raghav Sachdeva and Abhimanyu Yadav won the 2012 KK Luthra Memorial Moot Court Competition held at the India International Habitat Centre, Delhi in January 2012.
  • NLU Delhi was adjudged semifinalists at the 2012 HNLU Justice Hidayatullah Moot Court Competition and the NLIU Juris Corporate Moot, 2012. NLU Delhi was also the semifinalists in the 2012 DM Harish Memorial Moot Court Competition held at GLC, Mumbai, the 11th Surana & Surana International Technology Law Moot Court Competition held at Symbiosis, Pune, the 23rd KLA All India Moot Court Competition held at the Kerela Law Academy, the 2012 BCI Moot Court Competition held at Nirma University and the SLCU LKS CCI Antitrust Moot held at Christ University where Sanjeev Kumar won the Best Researcher award, in January 2012.
