USING LIBRARY RESOURCES
Justice T.P.S Chawla library collection development policy is designed on framework of Fifth Law of
Ranganathan (Library is a Growing Organism). The library comprising comprehensive coverage of National
and International material featuring primary and secondary legal materials in print and digital format;
academic and reporting journals, commentaries and treatises, reference collections, legal encyclopedias and
dictionaries, special loose-leafs and moot memorials and subscription of vide ranges electronic resources . The
library catalogue extensively cover number of subject heading on varies subject areas of law, economics,
linguistics & literature, political science, sociology and other interdisciplinary sections of law and legal studies.
The procurement and collection devotement of library document in print and digital format is time to time
reviewed and considered by Library Committee under the Chairmanship of Vice Chancellor.
The Library holds extensive collection of reference materials which can be consulted for finding information on
specific facts. These resources include general and specialized Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Indexes to Scholarly
Resources, Citation Manuals.
Books & Commentaries
The library has excellent collection and broad coverage on
national, foreign and comparative law collection. The
library’s comprehensive print collection comprises 45000
documents including series of commentaries on law,
reference collection, encyclopedias, legal dictionaries,
yearly digests etc. The collection focusing more than 150
legal subjects to support research and scholarship and have
strong emphasis on Jurisprudence, Constitutional law,
Criminal Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Cyber Laws,
Human Rights, Public and Private International law,
Business Law, Economic Laws, Arbitration, Labour Laws
,Environmental Law, Family Laws Language and
Linguistics and many more. To locate books and other
material users can search an online database of library
catalogue OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) through
library intranet.
JOURNALS & REPORTS
Library subscribes more than 140 journals including reporting
as well as academic journals paced under open access area for
reference.
