Dr. Sushila

Associate Professor

Ph.D., LL.M., LL.B.

Dr. Sushila is Associate Professor of Law and Research Director, Centre for Study of Consumer Law and Policy at National Law University, Delhi. She is currently teaching Consumer Protection Laws and Law of Torts. She specialises in Consumer Protection Laws with her Doctorate & Masters on the Consumer Protection Laws. She has participated as a resource person in various conferences, seminars, outreach and advocacy programmes and awareness and legal aid camps in the area of consumer protection law, sexual harrassment law, criminal law and food safety law.  

Before joining NLU Delhi in 2009, she was working Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Delhi where she taught subjects such as Law relating to Commercial Transactions and Consumer Protection, Partnership Law, Company Law, Law of Property, Rent Control Law, Family Law, Law of Succession, Law of Torts and Code of Civil Procedure (CPC).

Dr. Sushila is also visiting faculty at Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training (BPST), Lok Sabha Secretariat, Parliament of India. In August 2012, she was invited as an expert by National Institute of Open Schooling for development of curriculum for introduction of law at Senior Secondary Level, where she contributed in development of the course on ‘An Introduction to Law’ at Senior Secondary level. 

Dr. Sushila has authored various articles and research papers published in renowned journals, and has presented papers and chaired sessions in national and national conferences, seminars and workshops. She has supervised many LL.M. students in writing their dissertations. Dr Sushila was member of Drafting Committee constituted by Government of India for framing Rules under the Consumer Protection Bill, 2018. Besides, she is member of editorial committee of different journal and is also a peer-reviewers for different journals.
