6th Arun Jaitley International Moot Competition on Insolvency and Bankruptcy (May 6, 2023)

We are glad to share that the final rounds of the Arun Jaitley International Insolvency and Bankruptcy Moot successfully concluded on 6th May, 2023. During the rounds, the teams tackled some of the most challenging questions on group and cross border insolvency with commitment to excellence.

During the inaugural address, Dr. Risham Garg, Associate Professor of Law, NLUD and Director, CTCL, CRS, AJIIBM gave information about the about the moot.

Prof. Dr. M. S. Sahoo, Distinguished Professor, NLUD and Former Chairperson IBBI delivered the welcome Address; 

Ms. Anju Agarwal, Director ASC Consulting and CoChair, IWIRC India delivered a special address on Women in Insolvency Profession Inaugural Address was delivered by Mr. Dinkar Venkatsubramanian, EY India Partner and National Leader – Turnaround and Restructuring Services, President Designate, INSOL India Dr. Raghav Pandey, Assistant Professor of Law, NLUD delivered the Vote of Thanks.

The Semi- Final rounds were judged by Mr. Vikas Mehta Sr. Advocate & Advocate on Record; Mr. Sandeep Bajaj, Founder & Managing Partner, PSL Advocates; Mr. Anoop Rawat, Partner, SAM; Ms. Swarupama Chaturvedi, Advocate on Record; Mr. Ramakant Rai, Partner, Trilegal; Mr. Manish Jha, Partner, JSA.

We would like to thank our judges for the final rounds Shri Laxmi Narayan Gupta, Member(T), NCLT, Mr. Sumant Batra and Shri Sudhaker Shukla. The participants got the opportunity to argue in the presence of Ms. Athita Komindr and Mr. David, Probst.

We congratulate the winning participants and teams. The team comprising Bhabhesh Satapathy, Vishesh Bhardwaj, Nakshatra Gujrati, Kanishk Kaushik, from National Law University, Odisha won the Best Memorial Award.

Best Speaker (Prelims round) won by Aatreya N. from National Law Institute University, Bhopal Best Speaker (Advanced) won by Vanshika Agarwal, Institute of Law Nirma University Team from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad comprising of Kshipra Shukla, Sahithi Ragampudi, Kavya Reddy Putha, Shivanetra P emerged as the Runner's up in the competition. They received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 sponsored by INSOL India The team comprising Shrey Bhatt, Kartik Nagpal, Vanshika Agarwal from Institute of Law Nirma University won the moot. They received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, sponsored by Insolvency Law Academy.

In the valedictory ceremony, Dr. Risham Garg delivered the introductory comments, Prof (Dr) G S BAJPAI delivered the welcome address, followed by the special address delivered by Ms. Athita Komindr, Mr. Sumant Batra, Mr. Sudhaker Shukla. Shri L. N. Gupta, Member NCLT delivered the valedictory address.

Mrs. Sangeeta Jaitley, Ms. Pooja Mahajan, Mr. Dinkar Venkatasubramanian, Mr. Ashok Dogra, Prof. M. S. Sahoo also joined in to give away the prizes.
