CLJD Campaign for raising legal awareness on violence against women. (4-14 March 2024)

CLJD, NLU Delhi Reaches out to Villages in Eastern Uttar Pradesh

 

Centre for Law, Justice, and Development (CLJD), NLU Delhi under the aegis of Department of Justice and with support from Ministry of Rural Development, conducted the final phase of ‘Training by Trainers’ on ‘Preventing and Addressing Violence against Women’ in 9 villages of the districts of Prayagraj, Pratapgarh and Varanasi in Eastern Uttar Pradesh between 4th March to 14th March 2024.

 

The training sessions and door to door campaigns sought to raise consciousness regarding the structural nature of violence against women and normalization of the same. The participants were made aware of the legal provisions and institutional support available for survivors of violence. Brochures made by the Centre on various aspects of preventing and addressing violence against women were also distributed to all the participants. The Centre reached out to more than 250 people through these sessions.
