How to apply to the LL.M.( Professional) Programme?

In order to apply for LL.M. (Professional) Programme, a candidate is required to fill an online application form available at the University website. Admission to the course is confirmed if the candidate fulfills the minimum eligibility criteria which is listed below:

A person who has completed his/her graduation/post-graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks and has been in service, or has had professional experience of at least three years will be eligible to enroll for the programme. Submission of official documents to confirm minimum qualification is mandatory.

Incase of ineligibility, the fee is refunded, subject to processing fees.

What is the course structure of the LL.M.( Professional) Programme? Which specializations are being offered this year?

Candidates enrolled in the programme will have to successfully complete eight papers. There shall be four core papers in Semester I and one optional/specialization papers in Semester II. Each specialization carries four subjects. Specific subjects under each specialization will be announced in December 2023, however, it is understandable that the courses will expand in the said theme.

What is the nature of assessment in the LL.M.( Professional) Programme?

Assessment for LL.M. (Professional) Programme has two components – 30 marks internal assignment (online) and 70 marks examination (sit-down/in-person).

What will be the nature of mixed mode classes? When and where will they be held?

LL.M. (Professional) Programme is an Executive Diploma Programme conducted in mixed mode. Every semester has two sets of contact classes. Each set has 3 days. On each of the days, contact classes are held in person for the duration of two hours for every subject. The classes are held on weekends at National Law University Delhi campus in Dwarka-Sector 14, New Delhi; Friday, Saturday and Sunday, in the morning session starting from 9:30 AM onwards, in order to enable working professionals to join.

Is attendance compulsory for the contact classes?

Every student shall be required to secure a minimum of 75% of attendance in every subject to be eligible to appear for the end semester examination.

Is work experience mandatorily required to be eligible for LL.M. (Professional) Programme? What is the minimum work experience required?

In order to be eligible for LL.M. (Professional) Programme, a candidate must possess a work experience of at least 3 years.

Is LL.M.(Professional) Programme equivalent to LL.M. Regular Programme?

The LL.M.(Professional) Programme is an Executive Diploma Programme. As it is equivalent to a P.G.Diploma Course, LL.M.(Professional) Programme does not qualify a candidate to the academic and other professional benefits obtainable from a regular LL.M. Course.

Is the fee to be paid at the time of applying to the LL.M.(Professional) Programme. Will I be refunded in case my application is found to be ineligible for admission?

The tuition fees for the programme for Indian Nationals (all categories) shall be Rs. 1,25,000 [One Lakh, Twenty Five Thousand only]. The full payment of the fee needs to be made at the time of filling the application form. Incase of ineligibility, the fee is refunded, subject to processing fees.

Is there an age limit to apply for the LL.M. (Professional) Programme?

LL.M.(Professional) Programme is open for candidates of all age groups and genders across all disciplines. Candidates do not need to have a law background to apply to the programme
