National Law University, Delhi in collaboration with Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy, University of Oxford is organising the South Asia Rounds of the 2015-16 Price Media Law Moot Court Competition from 26-29 November, 2015. This year’s edition will see participation from 12 teams across three countries after qualifying through memorial rounds.

The moot aims to foster and cultivate interest in freedom of expression issues and the role of the media and information technologies in societies around the world. The South Asia rounds held at National Law University, Delhi have a history of persuading bright young lawyers to work with information policy – working on legal problems involving censorship, privacy and hate speech online seems to generate in a sustained interest in these issues.

This year’s case deals with issues of intermediary liability and anonymity in light of hate speech and anti-bullying law and anti-terror legislations over a social media platform. It is a contemporary problem that raises questions about the liability of a fictitious social media platform “Chatter” for online hate speech by users.

Please feel to contact for any clarifications regarding the moot.
