UpComing Events Details
The Centre for Communication Governance at National Law University, Delhi, the Hans Bredow Institute, University of Hamburg, and the Institute for Technology & Society of Rio in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair on Freedom of Communication at the University of Hamburg and the Global Network of Internet and Society Research Centers host an annual summer school at the National Law University, Delhi campus in New Delhi.
The summer school typically brings together a diverse group of scholars and students for an intensive week of lectures, discussions and interactive learning exercises. It offers participants a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts on an emerging legal issue. This year’s edition promises to be bigger and more diverse than ever before, bringing together students from the National Law University Delhi, the University of Hamburg, and our new partner, the ITS Rio de Janeiro.
The key theme for this edition is “Embedding Human Rights in Cybersecurity”, and lectures will touch on themes of national security, surveillance, data protection, encryption, cyber crime, cyber warfare and online extremism, their human rights dimensions, and their effect on foreign policy and international relations. Emerging technology such as artificial intelligence and blockchain will be discussed as well.
