Dr. Dakshina Chandra

Assistant Professor



Dr. Dakshina Chandra recently earned a PhD in Law from Deakin University School of Law, Australia. Her doctoral thesis focussed on removal of entry and practice barriers to encourage innovation; and on required educational reforms to bolster innovation in legal services delivery. Dakshina has previously worked as a Fellow at the Regulatory Governance Project and as a Guest Faculty at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore conducting research and teaching courses in the field of regulatory governance, law and technology policy. She has designed and taught capacity building programs for Indian regulators. She has also worked as associate Lecturer (Law) at Deakin Law School, Australia where she chaired and lectured several bachelor and masters level law courses.

 

Dakshina has a Bachelor of Laws degree (B.A. LL. B Hons) from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and a Masters in Corporations Law (LL.M.) from New York University Law School. She is a former corporate lawyer, having worked principally in the areas of project finance and private equity.

 

Her areas of interest include - Regulatory Governance, Law and Technology, Legal education, History of the legal profession, Professional Regulation and Legal Ethics and Administrative Law.
