Dr. Lakhwinder Singh

Assistant Professor



Dr. Lakhwinder Singh completed his Bachelor of Law (L.L.B), Master of Laws (LL.M) and Ph.D (Law) from the Panjab University Chandigarh. He obtained his degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Law (Ph.D) from the Panjab University Chandigarh in 2014. The title of his thesis was “Expanding Horizons of Right to Privacy: A Study.” Currently, he is also pursuing Post Doctoral Research Programme (LLD) on the research work entitled “Use of Surveillance Technologies by the Government Agencies vis-a-vis Right to Privacy in India: A Socio-Legal Study.”

 

He has written and presented various research papers on emerging aspects of Right to Privacy including media and privacy, surveillance and privacy, facebook privacy, Privacy in New Media, DNA Privacy, etc. He is also author of a book titled as “Right to Privacy and Freedom of Media.”

 

Before joining NLU Delhi, he has taught in the Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

 

He joined NLU Delhi in August 2016 as Assistant Professor (Law). He is teaching Judicial Process and Administrative Law to undergraduate students.
