Visit of British Parliamentarians
National Law University, Delhi organized a talk on Parliamentary Practices and Procedures by Mr. Stephen Pelham Pound, Member of Parliament of House of Commons from Ealing North constituency of United Kingdom on Nov. 27, 2015.
Before the start of interactive session, Vice Chancellor, Prof.(Dr.) Ranbir Singh, welcomed Mr. Pound. In his introductory speech, Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh acquainted him with the status of upcoming law schools in India and also briefed him regarding the achievements of students of National Law University, Delhi.
During the interactive session with the students of B.A. LL.B(Hons.), LL.M. and faculty, he discussed the two democracies, their common Parliamentary practices and their developments during the past decades. He eulogized Indians for their success in various fields, such as economic growth, social and political diversity and the most importantly for writing the Constitution.
He was accompanied by Mr. Arshad Paku Khan, Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor and Mr. Sachin Mandlik from Khaitan & Co.
Dr. Anupama Goel, Associate Professor (Law), NLU, Delhi co-ordinated the whole event. |
